Although the T'rasus class (the "Starbird" class) was originally designed asan exploratory cruiser for extended deep-space exploration, survey, and contact missions, its versatility has lent itself to several variant designs during the tense threat climate of the 2370's. These military variants were capable of making the long journey into the Alpha Quadrant during the conflict with the Dominion, and most served with distinction alongside many of the larger warbird and warship classes. The T'rasus class A Light Warbird, one such modification of the Light Starbird, is one of the smaller fighting ships in the Romulan fleet, but still capable of a lethal punch. It looks much like the more familiar sight of the D'deridex class warbird, butabout 1/4 the size, and with only one "wing". The IRV Ra'khohl (translated to Federation standard: "Avenger") served proudly in the war against theDominion forces, and was one of the fleet in the attacked on the Cardassian homeworld during the final stand of that conflict. He (all Romulan ships are referred to with the masculine pronoun) is currently posted to StarbaseBravo, as the first Romulan Warbird permanently stationed at a Federation Starbase, assisting in the protection of the Raeyan Sector and representing the power behind the Romulan delegation stationed there.
